C&EJ's Shimano Chronarch Reels |
| Shimano Chronarch® Baitcasting Reels
The popular Chronarch is now upgraded with more features to enhance your fishing productivity. It is available in three models to best match specific fishing situations. The CH-B is for most fishing applications that require fast line pickup but not a massive amount of line capacity. With PV power grips and a 5.0:1 gear ratio, BPV is optimal for big crankbaits or swimbaits. BSV is designed for saltwater. With a deep spool for line capacity, high speed retrieve and oversized grips. Escape Hatch™ sideplate access system that allows for quick VBS adjustments. Six bearings (five ball and one roller) give smooth, reliable performance for reeling in everything from an empty line to a heavyweight. *- Left hand retrieve.Featured Highlights
• A-RB (Anti-Rust Bearings) are specially treated stainless steel ball bearings that are at least 10 times more corrosion resistant than standard stainless steel ball bearings.
• Lo-Mass Drilled Spool System (except on model 200ASV) reducing the weight of the spool by drilling, lowers start-up inertia for more manageable casts. (available on CH100BPV, CH101BPV, CH100B and CH101B models only)
• High Efficiency Gearing (HEG) is not only the oversized gears, but also includes the setplate and sideplate, which allow for a high speed retrieve while providing unbelievable fish-moving torque.
• Dartainium Drag material provides a wide range of drag setting and the smoothest Shimano drag performance ever.
• A7075 Aluminum Spool (on models 100B, 101B, 100BV, 101BPV) because A7075 Aluminum is extremely strong, so we can use less material for lighter weight, which equals more manageable freespool.
• A6063 Aluminum Spool (on models 100B, 101B, 100BPV, and 101BPV only) this aluminum alloy provides extra corrosion resistance versus standard aluminum.
• Septon* this handle grip material is soft to the touch and does not get slippery when wet.
• Assist Stopper is a back-up anti-reverse system that reduces the stress placed on the one-way roller bearing to increase durability.
• Super Stopper is a one-way roller bearing that eliminates backplay for solid hooksets.
• Super Free (SF) bearing supported pinion gear system eliminates friction between the pinion gear and spool shaft for increased freespool.
• Metal Series metal frames keep moving parts in precise alignment for increased efficiency and durability.
• Clicking Drag Adjustment reduces the chance of the drag backing off at light settings while providing the angler a reference point to how much drag they add or reduce by turning the star.
• PV Power Paddles These oversized paddle grips provide extra power and remain comfortable after a full day of deep cranking (BPV models only).
• SV Power Paddles The largest of he paddle grips provides extra fish fighting power when battling feisty inshore species (BSV models only).
• Ion Plated Finish This finish is extremely durable and is more scratch and corrosion resistant than paint.
• Recessed Reel Foot allows the reel to sit closer to the rod for comfort and maneuverability.
• Escape Hatch Easy to use trigger allows quick access to the VBS weights and keeps the sideplate smooth for comfort when palming the reel.
• Variable Brake System (VBS) uses centrifugal force rather than magnets to aid in controlling the cast for increased
distance and adjustability.
• Cold Forged Handle Shank (available on model 100MG only) is much stronger than pressed or cast handle for non-flexing durability.
• Aluminum Frame
• Aluminum Sideplates |

| Magnesium Spool By constructing a spool out of lightweight magnesium, the start up inertia of the spool is extremely low. This means more energy from the cast is used in projecting the lure. These spools also feature a large arbor so that the mass of the spool is closer to the spool’s rim, allowing the spool to spin longer. Magnesium is highly corrosive in saltwater, so use of a reel using magnesium in saltwater or brackish water will void the reel’s warranty.
Maintenance Port The maintenance port is an easily accessed hole strategically located for easy maintenance of the reel. Using a slot-head screwdriver, the rubber-sealed plug can be removed from the reel. Here one drop of lightweight oil or grease can be inserted into the drive train to prevent corrosion and protect the smooth retrieve of the reel. Be sure not to over-lubricate the reel as excessive lubrication can cause the reel to become sluggish. Also, the use of after-market spray lubricants contain cleaners and degreasers that can actually remove the grease and oil that protect the reel and cause premature corrosion or damage to the reel. Before using an aftermarket lubricant, we recommend that you contact our Customer Service Department at 1-877-577-0600 to be sure it will not damage your reel.
Manual Bail Trip Reels equipped with Manual Bail Trip do not have an auto trip mechanism and the bails must be closed manually. This feature brings added line control during freespool that is imperative to big game-seeking saltwater anglers.
Metal Series The metal construction showcased in some of our finest reels now appears throughout our line of Metal Series products. Metal frames not only keep moving parts in precise alignment, they also feature the use of the latest anodizing, plating and painting techniques for beautiful and durable finishes. |
